During the day, water skiers crisscross the lake and sailboats dot the horizon. Visitors can walk the ramparts of the old city walls and see stunning views of the lake, the city and the mountains.

For outdoor lovers, Lucerne is a convenient and scenic place to base hiking and adventures. Ride a cog railroad to the top of nearby Mount Rigi. Take a guided plant and flower walk. Strike out on your own for mountain views and scenic pathways high above the city and the lake.
