Santa Rosa at a Glance

Santa Rosa is the gateway to California's Sonoma Valley wine region and the city itself is home to several wineries. Like much of California, Santa Rosa grew considerably after WWII. An earthquake in 1969 destroyed many downtown historic buildings, but the city rebuilt and is a tourism hub today.

Santa Rosa is a nice place to visit historical museums and admire old architecture. The Prince Memorial Greenway, which traverses downtown, is a great way to see the city on foot or by bike. The Schulz Museum teaches visitors about Santa Rosa resident Charles M. Schulz the famous Peanuts cartoonist. Parks, zoos and even a safari make for fun and exciting excursions around town.
