Whitsunday Islands at a Glance

Queensland's Whitsunday Islands are a tropical paradise. Sunshine and warm weather bless the islands year round and thanks to the Great Barrier Reef the waves are calm and perfect for sailing, boating and safe swimming.

Seventy-four islands of various sizes make up the Whitsundays, but only seven islands have tourist resorts. Your experience can range from luxurious hotel to bushwalking across an uninhabited island. Sailors delight in the fresh breezes, calm waters and gorgeous island views. Snorkelers and divers will find plenty of sea life to admire when they dive into the aquamarine waters. Beach bums can relish Whitehaven Beach, one of the whitest and most beautiful beaches in Australia.

If your bent runs to adventure you'll find sea-kayaking, zip lines, skydiving and more to keep your adrenaline rushing.
