I am traveling to China -- Beijing, Shanghai and then Hong Kong. Is it ok to ask for a better price if I am shopping for clothes and kitchen stuff in say, Hong Kong's Night Market? I don't want to be rude.
Yes, you can haggle and you'll look silly if you don't. If you can't speak Chinese, write down your price, gesture with your fingers, or show the vendor on your phone. Be careful-- if you want a good deal, your phone better not look too fancy. No one wants to give a deal to someone who just shelled out for the Iphone 6.
